In Alberta’s frost and thaw environment, screw piles are the ideal foundation solution. When installed properly by professionals, they will not be affected by frost. Concrete piles have been known to crack at the frost line causing the pile to slowly lift above grade. Concrete piles can also sink if ground conditions are not ideal. Screw piles will not heave or sink because the torque on the helix is monitored throughout the install. If proper torque isn’t achieved at the piles depth it’s as simple as adding an extension or installing a bigger diameter pile. With the Install torque known we can tell you the exact load capacity the pile has achieved.

Another big advantage of screw piles is they are removable. If you decide to change your deck or cabin decide after the pile install it is very simple to spin them out and put them in the new location.
